Definition

Venture Debt & Startup Financing are lenders and financing platforms serving startups and venture-backed companies whose repayment capacity depends on growth, equity sponsorship, recurring revenue, collateral or future capital access.

Overview

Debt can reduce immediate dilution and bridge milestones, but it cannot repair a structurally unviable business. Terms may include warrants, covenants, security interests and material-adverse-change provisions. Founders and boards must understand cash obligations, default remedies and how debt affects the next equity round.
